Discounty offers five campaign types to help you boost conversions, increase average order value, and run effective promotions. Here's an overview of each type and when to use them.
1. "Price rule" (formerly named "General discount") campaign
Apply a percentage discount, fixed amount off, or set a new product price for selected items or your entire store. This campaign type is ideal for:
Launching new products
Running storewide promotions (e.g. Black Friday)
Clearing seasonal or excess inventory
With Price rule campaigns, Discounty updates both the product price and the compare-at price directly on your products main information. Most Shopify themes show the compare-at price with a strikethrough line and a sale badge on the storefront.
2. "Minimum quantity / volume" discount campaign
Encourage bulk purchases by applying discounts based on the number of items a customer adds to their cart. You can create tiered discounts (e.g. buy 3+, get 10% off) to incentivize larger orders.
Best for:
Increasing average order value
Incentivizing retail customers to buy more with tiered discounts (e.g. buy 3+, get 10% off)
Offering bulk pricing for B2B or wholesale catalogs (e.g. buy 100+, get each item for $10)
Key features:
Discounts are automatically applied in cart and checkout
Displayed using Discounty’s tiered discount widget on the product page
3. "Minimum value" discount campaign
Reward customers who meet a cart total threshold by offering a discount. This helps increase purchase size and overall revenue.
Common use cases:
Encouraging higher spending
Setting thresholds like "Spend $50, get 15% off"
Key features:
Discounts are automatically applied in cart and checkout
Displayed using Discounty’s tiered discount widget on product pages
4. "Multi-class discount code" campaign
With the "Multi-class discount code" campaign, you can offer both an order discount and a shipping discount using a single discount code at checkout. Instead of creating and managing multiple discount campaigns separately, this feature simplifies the process by combining two types of incentives into one seamless experience for both you and your customers. This campaign type simplifies your promotions and improves conversion by:
Reducing friction at checkout
Combining incentives in one easy discount code
Avoiding code conflicts or overlap
These discounts are not applied automatically. Customers must enter the discount
code at checkout to receive the offer.
5. "Shipping discount" campaign
Shipping discount campaigns let you reduce or eliminate delivery costs to encourage customers to complete their purchase. With Shipping Discount campaigns, you can apply a fixed amount, percentage discount or free shipping to shipping costs. Discounts can be triggered automatically at checkout or applied with a promo code, giving you flexible control over your shipping strategy.
This campaign type is ideal for:
Offering free shipping promotions
Running time-limited deals on delivery fees
Encouraging larger orders by lowering shipping costs
Encouraging customers to complete purchases
