Minimum Quantity/Volume discount campaigns encourage your customers to buy more by offering better prices when they add more items to their cart. You can define discount tiers based on quantity thresholds and choose whether customers must buy the same product or a mix of eligible products.
This article walks you through setting up this campaign type, including discount configuration and product selection.
1. Set your campaign name
Give your campaign a clear internal name like “Buy More, Save More – 10% Off 3+”. This helps you track performance in your dashboard.
2. Define your discount tiers
Under the Discount section:
Choose the discount type:
Percentage (e.g. 10% off)
Fixed amount (e.g. $5 off)
New price (e.g. each item costs $20)
Set the minimum quantity required for the discount to apply
Click Add discount tier to create multiple thresholds (e.g. 3+ = 10% off, 5+ = 20% off)
Note: All discounts and quantity rules apply only to the products selected in this campaign.
3. Choose whether to apply the discount once or per item (only for fixed discounts)
When using a fixed amount discount, you'll see the option to choose how it applies:
Apply "fixed amount" discount only once per order, which indicates that a single fixed discount is applied to the cart when the quantity threshold is met
If not selected, the fixed discount is applied to every item that qualifies
Use this option to align with your pricing strategy—especially if you want a bulk offer or per-unit incentive.
4. Set the product match condition
Under Discount conditions, choose:
Mix of products – The customer can mix any eligible products to meet the quantity threshold.
Same product – The quantity must come from the same product (e.g. 3 of Product A)
This defines how customers qualify for the discount based on what they add to the cart.
5. Select included and excluded products
Use the Products and Excludes sections to define what this campaign applies to.
Filter by Collections, Product tags, Vendors, Product types, All store, or manually select products/variants
Optionally, enable Auto-update so Discounty adjusts the product list as your based on the changes on your store.
6. Enable campaign combinations (optional)
You can choose to combine this campaign with Discounty Price Rule campaigns if you want both a quantity-based discount and a price-level adjustment.
At this time, Quantity and Value campaigns cannot be combined with each other.
Leave this setting off if you want your quantity campaign to apply exclusively without stacking.
7. Set campaign schedule and countdown timer (optional)
Choose when your campaign starts and ends, and optionally show a timer to create urgency.
Set Start date/time
Set End date/time
Activate countdown timers if you want them to appear on your storefront
8. Preview your campaign setup
Use the right-hand preview panel to check how the discount applies:
Add different product quantities to test the pricing
Confirm the correct tiers are applied in the cart preview
Make sure settings match your campaign intent before activating
By following these steps, you can launch an effective, scalable quantity-based discount that rewards higher-volume purchases and increases average order value.
