Troubleshooting Guide: Discounty "Price editor (formerly General discount) campaign not working correctly

Updated yesterday

If you’ve created a price editor (formerly named general discount) campaign, with Discounty but noticed that some or all of your products aren’t discounted even though the campaign is active, follow these steps to identify and resolve common issues.

1. Ensure products are published on online store and active.

  • Verify that the products you want to discount are published on your online store and are active.

  • Discounty can only apply discounts to products that are both published and active.

Solution:

  • If products are not published or active, deactivate your Discounty campaign, publish and activate the products, and then reactivate the Discounty campaign.

2. Discounts Are Applied Initially But Disappear Later

  • If discounts are initially applied but disappear after some time, another app may be interfering with your product prices. This is often the case with inventory management apps or other apps that update product details.

Solution:

  • Check if you have any apps that modify product prices or the compare-at price. These apps could be overriding Discounty’s discounts.

3. Discounts Not Visible in European Countries (EEA)

  • If your primary market is not in the European Economic Area (EEA) but you sell internationally to EEA customers, the compare-at prices are hidden by default for those customers.

Solution:

  • To display compare-at prices for EEA customers, go to Shopify Admin > Settings > Markets > Preferences.

  • Deselect Hide compare-at prices for European Economic Area (EEA) customers and click Save.

4. Discounts Not Applied in Certain Markets

  • If discounts appear in some markets but not in others, check whether the prices in those markets are set as fixed prices. Discounty does not apply discounts to fixed-priced products.

Solution:

  • Ensure that the product prices in the affected markets are not set as fixed values. Adjust the pricing in those markets to allow for discounts.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve most issues related to missing discounts. If the issue persists, please don’t hesitate to contact our support team for further assistance.
