Applies to: Discounty “Minimum quantity/volume” and “Minimum value” campaigns.
Other Discounty campaign types follow different rules, and you can check the relevant troubleshooting guides for them. Check here.

The Discounty's "Minimum quantity/volume" and "Minimum value" campaigns rely on Shopify’s function-based automatic discounts. If the function is missing, inactive, or your store's global limit is reached, the incentive won’t fire. Follow the sequence below to get the discount working.

Step 1: Confirm the discount logic in the cart

  1. Add enough units (or value) of an eligible product to meet the campaign’s first tier condition.

  2. Open the cart or checkout:

    • Does the discount show?→ Then your discount is working correctly and the issue is probably about the widget not showing on your product page. See this guide.

    • No discount? → Continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Check that Discounty’s function-based discounts are active

For recent installations, Discounty creates one single Shopify function-based automatic discount for all of the “Minimum quantity/volume” and “Minimum value” campaigns.

For installations before July 24, 2024, Discounty creates five Shopify function-based automatic discount for all of the “Minimum quantity/volume” and “Minimum value” campaigns.

To check if the discount is created correctly:

  1. Navigate to Shopify Admin → Discounts.

  2. Filter Method = Automatic

  3. Look for the discounts created by Discounty. Depending on your installation date, you may see different configurations:

    1. Recent installations (After July 24, 2024):

One single discount named "Discounty 1 [DO NOT DELET]

    2. Older installations (Before July 24, 2024):

Five discounts named "product-discount-rust-0" to "product-discount-rust-4", or "Discounty 1 [DO NOT DELTE] to "Discounty 5 [DO NOT DELTE].

  4. Don't find the discounts? → Continue to Step 3.

  5. Find the discounts? → Check if all these Discounty-generated discounts are active.

    1. If one or more of these discounts are "Expired", activate them.

    2. If all of them are already active, contact our support team.

  6. Check if the issue is resolved. If not, please contact our support team!

Step 3: Make sure you are under Shopify’s automatic-discount limit

Shopify has a store-wide limit for active automatic discounts: You can have a maximum of 25 active automatic discounts. This total includes app-based discounts.

To check if your store is under the limit:

  1. In Discounts, filter Status = Active AND Method = Automatic.

  2. If you’re at 25, deactivate the ones you no further need.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Navigate to Discounty app.

  5. Deactivate your minimum quantity/volume or minimum value campaign.

  6. Reactive the campaign.

  7. Check the discounts section in Shopify again to ensure the Discounty's discount is created correctly.

  8. Continue to Step 4 to test the campaign.

Step 4: Test again

  1. Remove all products from your cart.

  2. Hard-refresh the storefront.

  3. Add qualifying products/values to the cart.

  4. If the discount still fails to appear, contact our support team.
