Applies to: Discounty "Price rule" campaigns (formerly “General discount”).Other Discounty campaign types follow different rules, and you can check the relevant troubleshooting guides for them. Check here.
If your "Price rule" discounts show up at first but revert to the original price after a while, you may need to check your other apps. Nearly every time this happens a second app is writing to the product’s price or compare-at price field after Discounty has finished.
The guide below helps you identify that app, adjust its settings, and lock your sale in place.
1. Confirm the symptom.
Activate your Price rule campaign.
Visit the storefront in a private/incognito window. You should see the correct sale price.
Re-check the same product a few hours later (or the next morning). If the original price is back, continue to Step 2.
2. Find any app that edits prices.
Navigate to the Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps & sales channels.
Open each installed app one by one. Look for features named repricing, syncing, feed update, inventory update, compare-at adjustment, discount, price editor, or similar.
Make a note of any app that:
Changes “Price” or “Compare-at price”, or
Runs on a timer / schedule / feed sync.
Typical culprits: inventory or ERP connectors, Google/Facebook feed managers, dynamic pricing tools, print-on-demand platforms.
3. Stop the conflict
Choose one of these options for every app you identified:
Option | When to use it | How |
Disable price editing | The app’s price updates aren’t essential. | In the app’s settings, turn off any rule that writes to price or compare-at price. |
Reschedule the update | You need the app, but timing can shift. | Set its sync to run before your Discounty campaign schedule, so Discounty is always the final write. |
Exclude discounted items | The app supports exclusions. | Add a tag/collection rule telling the app to ignore items while they’re part of a Discounty campaign. |
Pause the app temporarily | Flash sale or short campaign. | Disable the app until the promotion ends, then re-enable it. |
4. Reactivate your Discounty "Price rule" campaign.
After changing the other app(s):
Go to Discounty → Campaigns.
Deactivate the Price rule campaign.
Click Activate again. This rewrites the discount to every SKU so the latest prices stick.
5. Monitor for 24 hours
Revisit a few discounted products the next day.
If the sale price remains, the conflict is solved.
If prices revert again, double-check for any remaining apps or manual edits.
