Understanding campaign statuses in Discounty helps you track the lifecycle of your campaigns and take action when needed. Each status reflects a specific phase in how discounts are scheduled, applied, or reverted.
Campaign statuses
Here’s a breakdown of each campaign status and what it means:
1. Active
The campaign is live and running on your store.
Discounts are currently applied to eligible products.
Customers can see and benefit from the offers.
2. Scheduled
The campaign is set to start at a future date and time.
It will automatically start processing once the start time arrives and become Active.
No discounts are applied yet.
3. Expired
The campaign has ended—either manually or after reaching its scheduled end date.
Discounts are no longer applied or visible to customers.
You can reactivate expired campaigns if needed.
4. Queued
The campaign is waiting in line to be processed.
It will start once system capacity allows or once other operations finish.
5. Retrieving
Discounty is:
Identifying eligible products using your campaign filters.
Retrieving product and variant data from Shopify.
No discounts are applied at this stage yet—it's a preparation step.
6. Applying
Discounty is actively applying discounts to the selected products.
This includes updating product prices, setting meta fields, or creating discount codes, depending on the campaign type.
7. Reverting
Discounty is removing the applied discounts and restoring original settings.
This may involve reverting product prices, removing meta fields, or disabling the discount codes, depending on the campaign type.
8. Auto-updating
This status appears when a campaign with the auto-update feature enabled is actively running its scheduled update job.
No action is needed on your part.
Discounty will automatically update the campaign’s products based on the filters you’ve set.
9. Needs upgrade
This status means your campaign exceeds the number of product variants allowed on your current plan.
To proceed, you’ll need to upgrade your plan to match the number of variants in the campaign. Once upgraded, the campaign will be applied automatically.
10. Error
This status means something went wrong while processing your campaign.
A tooltip will appear next to the status showing the error details. Reach out to support if needed.
Frequently asked questions
1. What are the campaign processing stages?
Campaigns move through several system-driven stages during setup or teardown. These are called processing statuses:
Queued
Retrieving
Applying
Reverting
Auto-updating
These indicate that Discounty is actively working on the campaign.
2. What are the campaign non-processing stages?
Once processing is complete, your campaign will move into a non-processing status, such as:
Active
Scheduled
Expired
Needs upgrade
Error
These are stable states where you can take further actions.
3. Can I cancel a campaign while it's processing?
No. Campaigns cannot be canceled during the processing stages. You’ll need to wait until the campaign reaches a non-processing status before taking further action.
4. When can I delete a campaign?
You can delete a campaign only after it is no longer active. Follow these steps:
Open the campaign in your Discounty dashboard.
Click “Deactivate” to end the campaign.
Wait for the campaign to enter the Expired status.
Click the “Delete” button at the bottom of the campaign page.
5. How can I edit a campaign?
You can edit a campaign in the following statuses:
Scheduled
Expired
Error
Needs upgrade
To edit:
Open the campaign from your dashboard.
Make your changes.
Click Save.
Note: You generally cannot edit a campaign while it’s in Active, Retrieving, Applying, Reverting, Auto-updating, or Queued status. However, you can change the end time of an active campaign.
6. Why does my campaign say "Needs upgrade"?
This means your campaign includes more variants than your current plan allows. You’ll need to upgrade your plan to activate the campaign.
7. Can I reactivate an expired campaign?
Yes. You can reopen and reuse any expired campaign by activating it from your dashboard.
8. What does "Queued" mean, and how long does it last?
“Queued” means your campaign is waiting for its turn to be processed. This typically resolves within a short time. If it stays queued unusually long, please contact support.
9. Why is my campaign taking longer than expected on "Applying" or "Reverting"?
Campaigns with many product variants may require more time to apply or revert changes. If processing is unusually slow, you can reach out to our support team for help.
