When using the Discounty App, understanding how the General Campaign works is essential. This campaign applies discounts by adjusting your products’ Price and Compare-at Price directly in Shopify.

If you uninstall the app without first disabling the campaign, the discounted prices will remain active, and your product pricing may not revert to its original state.

Here’s a guide to fix this issue.

Why disabling the general campaign is important

The General Campaign operates by directly modifying product prices in Shopify to reflect discounts. These changes stay in effect unless the campaign is manually disabled before uninstalling the app.

If the app is removed without disabling the campaign, the discounted prices will not revert, and you’ll need to manually fix them—or let us assist you.

What to do if you uninstall without disabling the campaign

You can contact us to take care of the price changes for you. To do this:

  1. Reinstall the Discounty App

Go to the Shopify App Store and reinstall the Discounty App. This will give us access to your store so we can revert the prices to their original state.

  2. Contact our support team

  3. Once the app is reinstalled, reach out to our support team via the app or email. We'll assist you in disabling the campaign and restoring your original prices.

If you prefer to handle the pricing manually, you can choose one of the following options:

a) Edit prices directly in Shopify:

  • Go to the Products section of your Shopify admin panel.

  • Adjust the Price and Compare-at Price for each affected product manually.

b) Use a product export/import process:

  • Export your product data from Shopify.

  • Edit the Price and Compare-at Price columns in the exported spreadsheet.

  • Re-import the updated file into Shopify.

⚠️ Note: Both manual methods can be time-consuming and prone to errors, particularly for stores with a large number of products. To save time and avoid mistakes, we strongly recommend reinstalling the app and reaching out to our support team for assistance.

Best practices to prevent this issue in the future

If you decide to continue using Discounty, to ensure smooth operations and avoid pricing issues:

  • Always disable active campaigns in the app settings before uninstalling the app.

  • If you’re unsure or need help, contact our support team
